London: Images from the Modern City
exhibitions
RIBA Heinz Gallery, Portman Square, London W1
James Dunnett was responsible for selecting and designing this exhibition in 1985, supported by the Dru Heinz Fund. The objective was to examine the post-war legacy of Modern Movement architecture in central London – largely commercial – and show how it had been influenced by ideas originating in pre-war years, and that it was, for example in the work of George Marsh for Richard Seifert’s practice, a worthy exposition of them. The exhibition largely comprised photographs taken by James Dunnett with original drawings and models.
