This is one of the finest Modern Movement houses of the 1930s in the UK, designed by Maxwell Fry and listed Grade 2. It had deteriorated, with an unfortunate addition and inappropriate alterations to the interior. James Dunnett was consulted by three prospective purchasers about the potential of the house and the work required. For the third, who went on to buy the property, he prepared design proposals to increase the amount of accommodation provided whilst restoring some of the lost features and retaining the architectural integrity of the original concept. A more extensive remodelling was in the event undertaken by others.
