Hutchings Walk

whole house renovation

This house of 1937 in the Hampstead Garden Suburb Conservation Area, a work by the noted architect CM Crickmer, has been renovated with new rendering to the walls and steel windows matching the originals but now double-glazed, and extended with a new pavilion-like garden room-cum-studio. The design of the pavilion develops the architectural language of the original house to which it is joined, spatially embracing the garden around it with its three corner windows and projecting concrete canopy.
